ABOUT MIAMI FASHION FILM FESTIVAL

Offering a close and colorful look at the creative and fast-paced world of the fashion industry, the 4th Annual Miami Fashion Film Festival (MIAFFF) celebrates the films and filmmakers that creatively examine the art, culture, and business of fashion, both locally and internationally.

Bringing attention to the historical interdependence between art and fashion and its influences, MIAFFF adds to the “fashion is art” narrative with local and international films that highlight fashion design through graphics, sound, and motion, in real and digitally imagined environments as well as revealing documentaries that delve into the designer psyche and craft.

Included are designer brands and experimental shorts, fashion-in-film classics as well as the style-filled movies that have inspired our love of fashion.

Attractive to film, fashion and art enthusiasts, who also recognize fashion as a form of artistic and cultural expression, fashion design is further explored through exhibits, workshops, and talks with local fashion creatives using design, film and photography to expand the dialogue at the intersection of art and fashion.

Programming also aims to engage the community in conversation to explore the opportunities and challenges women, youth, and professionals face within the industry globally.

Proceeds benefit Fashion Inspires More, a nonprofit organization dedicated to expanding the fashion dialogue through art, technology, and education.

Seersucker Social: a 1920’s Game Night

Lots of people think about Vizcaya’s gardens as a place to take a leisurely stroll, sit under the oak trees to enjoy a quiet afternoon, or alongside the bay and watch the boats come and go. All of these are good. But what people don’t do is PLAY – so we’re fixing that.

Taking inspiration from the 1920s, when Vizcaya was James Deering’s private home, we’re putting together a game night in the gardens – think lawn bowling, yard dice and croquet. We’ll have musicians sharing some great jazz sounds and there will be lots of yummy bites and refreshing drinks. We encourage guests to embrace the era and come in their seersuckers or other period attire – because anything worth doing is worth doing right!
